Today was surely one of the happiest days I've ever felt in the last two weeks.
The day started with me picking up Echie (an epithet for Jessica) at Kutek, where she had to go to an internet cafe to send in some report to her boss at Enriching-Life. And then we went to the campus library to read up on internship reports done by the school's alumni.
We literally pored our hearts and eyes out on those internship reports. Plus we could only read 6 reports a day damnit!
We were at loss for words because it seemed like no one had ever done a report on what we wanted to write on.
So there were no benchmarks.
I must say Echie was luckier because she did find this report that analyzed the revenue of this oil company, although Echie wanted to write about expenditures (quite the opposite).
But nobody had ever written about risk management!!!
And the ones who did were Management students (I'm an Accountancy and Finance major) and theirs were, I'm sorry to say, poorly made!
Anyways we were gonna grab a frozen yoghurt after, but the traffic jam was not so friendly to let us do so.
Instead we did some shopping and Echie walked out of the store with a pair of pretty, pretty wedges plus 2 stockings (grey and black), while I got a pair of knee-length black socks and a pair of black thigh-high stockings. :)
Afterwards, we went to The Harvest to satisfy our sweet tooths. ;)

Echie had a strawberry cheesecake and I had a chocolate mousse.
We shared our blueberry tea. ;)

Being on campus, even for a short while made me realize just how much I
miss school...
Not this part though.

This is long overdue as we went out right before my internship (right after mid-test).
But I miss campus so bad nowadays (and it's only been 2 weeks!!!) hehe.
We took pictures in the bathroom RIGHT after we got to PIM! :D
1st frame: Nanda (with the headband), Ratih (*kiss*), me!We headed straight to the foodcourt afterwards as we were RAVENOUS.
Nanda, the SKINNIest one, had the most food intake (3rd frame)

We went for ice cream at ColdStone.
And acted retarded.
The most retarded one as everyone can see, lol, is the one in yellow; Dewi.
In the last frame she got angry with her ice cream. Don't ask us why.
And the 1st frame... Well we're just speechless. ;) Hehe.
We met Dita, wearing the hijab, with her boyfriend.

I ran into an old friend Yuke! Love her, miss her! :)

Let's go out agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiinn!!! :D

So as you guys know, I started working June 1... And today will mark a FULL week of me working at DBS Indonesia!!! Yay for me! ;)
I've had an internship before at
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, which was
FABULOUS btw, but the fatigue was nowhere near this one... And before at DTT I had to go home at 12AM!!! LOL.
Anyways I'll be posting some catch-up posts these few days to let the blog catch up to current events. This one I wrote in my office desktop after lunch lol.
June 1, 2009 13:26Yesterday
one of my dreams LITERALLY CAME TRUE!!!*Yaaayy!!!*
This may be an insignificant event to some, and a bit stupid really, but
VERY VERY important to me nevertheless... :)
So
Hasbi took me out to dinner that day to Little Baghdad in Kemang. :)
And as soon as we got there, we ordered straight to the main course and I even asked for an additional Pita Bread to accompany my chicken curry! :)
Our Table. My Chicken Curry and additional Pita Bread.
The drinks were Snow in Sahara (the white one) and Taste of Baghdad.
Hasbi ordered Shawarma.
We actually got there
WAY early (around 16:30) so we slept it off in his car a bit before going in the restaurant.

Still daytime.
H = the grumpiest, cutest thing. :)
We sat outside, which was rather a mistake because
dining inside seemed more appropriate for such romantic affairs. ;) And if there was one thing I regretted, it was that I forgot to have the waiter light up the candle at our table![!!!!!!]
I thought that if a candle was lit, then that'd mean I'd had a candlelight dinner with H right???
LOL. :D :D :D
We're not as retarded in real life.
And don't mind that lopsided smile I had on (especially in the last pic).
And please excuse the sleepy eyes too.
Anyways earlier that day we went to PIM, only my favorite mall and also the BEST mall ever in Indonesia[!!!], albeit one we often go to on account of it being strategically located (read: close) to our houses lol. ;)
There Hasbi accompanied me in getting Farra a birthday present.
She actually shares the same birthday with Hasbi so you can tell that
two of my major expeditures would probably be made in June. ;)
I got her a perfume.
H in front of Metro Department Store in PIM finishing off his ice cream.
I wore my long sleeves floral mini with a pair of amazing platforms and a pretty scarf and bag lol. Hasbi liked my dress and was happy with my heels because they made it
easier for him to wrap his hand around my waist (not that there'd been any problem before lol). ;) But I actually forgot to take a decent outfit picture (as if there's ever been one before!!!) because I so badly want to show it off!!! LOL.
Anyways back to
WORK!!! :D

No, I actually didn't go to Bali. It was finals after all. Anyways yesterday H did
THE SWEETEST THING EVER!!![!!!!!!!!!!]
He was staying at a friend's place with his guy friends, but still he picked me up from school and even
waited a long time as I had to return some books to the library and had a meeting with my
AMUNC team concerning sponsorship problems!
He absolutely
hated--and will continue to hate I guess--all of my meetings, but despite of him rumbling a little, he was the
cutest thing!
Afterwards, he was supposed to accompany me get a manicure-pedicure at this salon, which he did.
The thing is boys weren't allowed in the salon! So as soon as Hasbi and I stepped into the place, the receptionist
ushered him out the door.I was quite at loss of what to say as the salon was quite far and we had wasted quite a lot of time getting there. I felt so bad for him.
So I told him that the manicure-pedicure thing was canceled and that I was sorry.
But he insisted that I go in and have
fun! He told me that he knew I had wanted to go for a long time. That he'd be waiting. And that I shouldn't worry about him being alone.
I had felt like I wanted to
hug him then and there.
So I went in and got myself literally PAMPERED.
I had a massage, a body scrub, and of course the manicure and pedicure I had wanted.
It was already nighttime when I finished.
And Hasbi; he was in his car, his windows slightly open, sleeping. His PlayStation Portable was on the dashboard, its battery finished.
He kissed me on the cheek and it was the perfect ending for finals. :)

As soon as I saw this pic I knew what I'm going to make next!!! Susie's skirt!!! :)
Hehe.
I wonder how it will look in denim?
That aside, I've been toying with the idea of donning Barbie Lips lately...

So I have been eyeing shoes for work these few days. As well as pants.
Unfortunately the shoes that I want are incredibly expensive for my budget.
And so I decided to have them custom made.
After I pick up my sisters I'm gonna go to a shoemaker to have these babies done:

Giuseppe Zanotti Platform gladiator sandals

Giuseppe Zanotti Cutout rivet sandals

Balmain Crystal panel sandals
But I'm gonna have to make them all in chunky platform heels just because I wouldn't have it other wise. ;)
Gotta get going. Bye! :) :) :)
Images are courtesy of Net-a-Porter.com---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The shoemaker was out and I couldn't have the shoes done... But I brought home this very cute vintage-looking dress with gold flower buttons lol. ;)
So it was a HAPPY day! :)

A friend of mine Yosu joked, "Who died that you're wearing all black the last few days?!"
This Friday.
Now Yosu's taking it a biiiiiiiit far as it's only been two days. But him saying that made me realize that without realizing it (when I put the clothes on), it's been two days in a row now that I've been wearing an all-black outfit. :)Now I've made you all confused. My friend Nining said, upon seeing me today at campus, that I look slimmer. And I told her it's all that black. That it possessed a "slimming effect" on people. But then I realized that yesterday, even though I wore all black like today, I looked far than slim.
This Thursday.
I looked fat, even. And so my theory that black has a slimming effect failed to prove itself. After studying yesterday's circumstances again, three things can be inferred:- Loose flowing tops, even though it's black, are not complemented with loose flowing jackets
- One should make sure that one has pants that are the appropriate length to pair with one's flats. I think mine weren't and could be 1-2 cm longer
- When one's picture is taken while one's carrying quite a big bag, make sure that one's hand(s) do(es) not look dead. I made that mistake a few times as you can see. Not promising I won't make the same mistakes though lol
But let's not think of them as mistakes...let's just say they're ventures. Fashion ventures.Me taking a crack at looking good lol.:D :D :D7:08 PM 4/24/20094:48 AM 4/25/2009P.s. Despite all that, the things that I do like from Thursday's outfits were the patterns on the top and on the jacket...I couldn't help it they were floral!!! :)Plus they really do look good (separately), which made pairing them both seemed like a good idea at the time lol.4:53 AM 4/25/2009

Yesterday's day out with the ex captured by a camera phone but failed because it's blurred plus I was having a total bad hair day.
The ex.
LOL. Although I
do think that I look rather ravishing in my new glasses, apparently my camera phone doesn't agree that much LOL. I look okay though in my opinion. :D
It doesn't really look it in the pic but it's a
Sulawesi Batik print (
Bugis) in a rich purple color with complementary fuchsia, silver, green, and orange patterns.
The red mini dress was also Batik and I'm definitely packing them both to Australia for
AMUNC.
LOVE! :D

6:03 AM 4/19/2009
I have a runny nose that is triggered whenever I get into contact with water. When I went to take a wudhu, my nose began to run; after I washed my face in the bathroom sink, my nose ran again; after I took a bath, there it ran again. And it took such a long time before it stopped!
A usual ritual in my house is for the family to recite the Qur'an, tilawatil Qur'an, after the Maghrib salat/contact prayer.
So there I was yesterday, in the musholla with my runny nose, messing up my reading because of my inability to breathe properly.
When you read Arabic, there are certain length and tones and ways of articulating the letters, words and sentences. And because of that runny nose I wasn't able to inhale and/or exhale properly, which of course affects my recital of the holy verses.
I had a box of tissue on my left and every now and so often, in the middle of an ayat, or when I've finished one, I would blow my nose hard in order to get rid of all that mucus, although unsuccessfully I must tell you. This was okay when it was my turn to deliver the verses, but when it was others', I don't think one could hear what the other recited. Proper execution of the verses, in terms of how they are read and pronounced/stated was crucial in delivering the verses and its meaning correctly, and I was afraid that my blowing and sneezing prohibited the feedback that came in perfecting the delivery.
Yeah so I messed that up.
But apart from that my mom bought me new glasses!!!
We went to the optician yesterday to pick out a new glasses for me as my old one has been stolen, and my older one, though as adorable and as stylish [yes it is still in style ;) and I don't think it will ever go out of] as it is, is old. Hehe.
After a looooooooooooong, time of trying out glasses--there really were about 50 or so [no kidding!] glasses on the counter that I've tried on and all looked good on me [I swear you they ALL look GOOD on me! ;) Seriously though]--my choice came down to two pairs.
One was by Cartier and the other was Levi's.I fell in LOVE with both of them, although my heart swayed more in to the Cartier's, the shape was unique, though both was rectangular, and
both looked mighty GOOD on me.But my mom was having second thoughts. And so we reasoned. And as
moms are ALWAYS right, I went home with the Levi's instead and was incredibly HAPPY about it.Whenever I caught a glimpse of myself reflected in mirrors, glass doors or in car windows and etc,
I'd unconsciously smile feeling good about my appearance lol. This was really rather unwise as it was other people who worried that something bizzarre had happened up there in the attic. ;)
But having that new glasses reminded me terribly of my old glasses. It was Armani Next and had the brightest lime green rim and handles you've ever seen that it looked almost yellow at times.I have never seen anybody wearing that glasses EVER in my life and I had thought that if not in the whole world, then in all of Indonesia
I must have been the ONLY one who possessed that pair of glasses.I cried in my room thinking of old Lemony [named after a favorite author]. And the fact that my room was the color lime green didn't help either and only pushed me into a deeper depression.
I had never found out where it went, where I lost it, and when.
It all remained a mistery.
A real ugly picture of me with Vada and Rora while wearing old Lemony.
I actually wanted to post another pic that was more appropriate (read: in which I look good) but this was the easiest to access (read: can be saved from Rora's friendster photos). :(
Lemony please come back to me I miss you.
And if there is anybody who's seen that glasses [its case was white and had a matching--lime green--lense cleaning cloth in it] I am willing to pay you a significant amount of money.
Please just give me back my Lemony. :'(6:42 AM 4/19/2009
